Lily and Val Extends Licensing programme to Spain and Portugal

Lily & Val has been one of MGL’s biggest stars of 2015. Following a successful launch in the UK with a giftware and stationery range by Portico, Lily & Val is expanding their licensing programme in Spain and Portugal thanks to a new partnership with Grupo Erik. The new product range will feature stationery, wall art, greeting cards, mugs and key rings, all showcasing Val’s distinctive style of hand made chalkboard art. Further more, L&V are currently developing an exciting range of wedding themed paper products with a major UK manufacturer, to be launched during 2016. New Artists: Irina Garmashova-Cawton and Al Hogue

Irina Garmashova-Cawton

Originally from St Petersburg Russia. Irina has been living in the UK since 2000. She trained as an artist at the Academy of Baron Alexander von Stieglitz in St Petersburg and works in oil, watercolour, and colour pencil. She is a recognised published artist as well as an award winning and signature member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society. Her work has been exhibited worldwide and also licensed across the world in different product categories.

Al Hogue

Al Hogue’s love of nature led him to express his passion in art, and share what he saw and imagined. He began drawing at a very young age, but only started painting at the age of 32. He is completely self-taught. His paintings are a blend of fantasy and realism. They invite the viewer to step into the painting and feel the healing power of nature.

New Licenses for ‘Moovie Nights’ and ‘Cat & Dog’

MGL Licensing is proud to announce the launch of the new calendar ranges for Nick Hannaford-Hill’s humour brands ‘Cat & Dog‘ and ‘Moovie Nights

Carousel Calendar will be the first UK licensee for Cat & Dog, a cartoon that attempts to shine a light into the mysterious minds of our beloved pets. This new range will be available at high street and independent retailers throughout the UK and Europe in 2016.

Simultaneously, the Moovie Nights licensing programme continues to expand with a new range of calendars available from Brown Trout publishing.

With Nick’s flair for funny illustrations these are definitely very unique properties perfect for publishing, calendars, apparel, greeting cards and gift items.

Valentina’s licensing programme continues to expand

Valentina’s licensing portfolio continues to grow with new product ranges to be released at retailers worldwide.

American stationery manufacturer Studio Oh! have commissioned new work by the Venezuelan artist through our American partners Jewel Branding & Licensing to launch their new range of colouring-in products. Studio Oh’s Senior Art Director states ‘There’s been a rising trend for adult colouring books for the last two years and we thought we could pick-up this trend. Valentina was a perfect fit, her unique style is very organic and even when someone is colouring her work there is still a sense of personal creativity’

Furthermore, long time partner teNeues are extending their Valentina license to include an exclusive range of calendars featuring Valentina’s latest work.

Carousel Calendars Snaps Up Katarina Sokolova

UK publisher Carousel Calendars has snapped up Katarina Sokolova for their new 2016 calendar and diary range available throughout Europe.

Carousel Calendars states “We are delighted to be producing calendar products featuring Katarina’s unique artwork. Katarina’s digital paintings are inspired by fashion and fantasy, and these new products will bring something different to our existing range of art titles.”

Katarina is a Ukranian artist trained in batik painting and graphic design who works using both digital and traditional mediums. Her signature style of hyperrealistic and seductively beautiful imagery is available for a variety of licensed products including wall art, greeting cards, stationery and jigsaw puzzles. Artist of the Month – Sharon Turner

UK based designer Sharon Turner has an eclectic background of biomedical science and interior design. Obsessed with colour, her art is inspired by her love of nature, animals and architecture.

Sharon currently enjoys worldwide sales and has a loyal following on social media. Her collection of pattern designs, graphics and illustrations have already been licensed by Bed, Bath & Beyond, DENY, Urban Outfitters and Norstrom just to name a few. Her designs are now available for licensing on all product categories through MGL.

Shell Rummel’s new licenses

MGL are pleased to announce two new signings for Shell. Australian partner Ashdene are developing two table top ceramics and kitchen textile lines under the Shell Rummel brand, which will be rolled out this summer. UK based Craft Consortium have also joined the licensing programme and have developed Shell’s extensive portfolio of patterns into a beautiful paper craft collection. Her watercolour artwork is perfect for additional product categories such as home textiles, stationery and gift.

The Shell Rummel brand of soothing palettes and fluid lines caters to the modern, stylish woman. MGL are pleased to announce the signing of new artist Pip Shuckburgh. After graduating from Art College, Pip embarked on a fruitful career within illustration and commercial art, landing her first complete book to illustrate at the age of 21. Pip has had wide success working largely with watercolour and gouache, illustrating books for numerous well known publishers.

Pip lives in the village of Bampton, the home of UK TV program Downton Abbey, and has gained a widespread reputation for her idyllic paintings of the local landmarks. Her work is now available for homeware, gift, textile licenses and more.

Peter Adderley recently submitted a new collection of English seaside inspired paintings to add to his popular portfolio. Originating from England’s rural county of North Staffordshire, Peter Adderley began his career as a freelance artist and card designer. In 2004 his outstanding talent won him a place in the final of the DeMontfort New Artist Competition. This took his status as a professional artist onto a whole new level.

Peter’s artwork can already be found on a range of licensed products including canvases, homeware and greeting cards. We are actively looking for partners to add to his existing product ranges.
